a nature game:The Secret Signs of Nature

How to play

Head outside and become nature detectives! Your quest is to find the secret signs that nature leaves behind to tell its story.

Look for clues such as:
🪶 A feather — a bird has been here.
🌿 A half-eaten leaf — a caterpillar’s lunch!
🐾 A footprint or path — who might have walked this way?
🍂 A fallen seed or nut — where could it grow next?

Each person takes turns spotting a clue and guessing what might have happened. You can even make up fun “nature stories” together based on what you find.

Optional twist:

Give everyone a “detective notebook” (or small scrap of paper) to sketch or list the clues they discover.

What it teaches:

Observation, storytelling, empathy for wildlife, and awareness of seasonal change.

You’ll need:

Just your curiosity — and maybe a magnifying glass or small notebook.
