How to play

Head outside and become a swarm of busy bees! One player is the Bee Keeper. Everyone else becomes Bees. The bees must buzz around the space, pretending to visit flowers. Move from plant to plant while making gentle buzzing sounds. But the Bee Keeper is watching. At any moment the Bee Keeper can call: “Wind!” — All bees must freeze instantly like flowers blowing in the breeze. If the Bee Keeper sees a bee still moving, that bee becomes the new Bee Keeper. Then the buzzing begins again!

Optional twist:

Add more nature calls: “Rain!” — Bees crouch under a leaf or plant for shelter. “Sun!” — Bees stretch up tall to warm their wings. “Butterfly!” — Bees must flap slowly and float around.

What it teaches:

Movement, quick reactions, imagination, and awareness of insects and flowers.

You’ll need:

Just your imagination — and maybe a space with flowers, plants, or trees to visit.
